This XXL Cherry Yarn Bowl for larger projects doubles as artful decor wherever it rests!   Lots of details, include a gentle warp for added character, artful raised base and raised bands inside. The mirror-like finish is hard to capture in photos!

Sized at a generous 12" in diameter with a more shallow depth of 4 1/2" this functional collectible has a classic bowl shape maximizing its storage space. A 7oz ball of worsted #4 yarn will roll nicely with room to spare. Nice for thicker, blanket yarn, and perfect for oversized yarn cakes, with cake placed upside down, fed through the groove. If you prefer to skip rolling skeins, this bowl will accommodate 2 full 7 oz or 1 full 16 oz skein on its side, feed through the j-groove (see photos). Or, use the bonus cup/hub with smaller balls of fingering/dk weights or stash yarn and top pull for quick, easy yarn changes. There's plenty of extra room for your work, tools, etc., when set aside.
This piece was artisan crafted from a beautiful  specimen of Cherry hardwood using a slow cure over a three month period. Over sixteen coats of finish were applied and hand-buffed to bring out the rich character of nice cherry wood tones and interesting grains. A final coat of imported museum wax was added to resist fingerprints and stains, making it smooth as glass and more durable than pottery. This piece is so shiny, it was difficult to photograph without reflections.

This bowl was recently "found" unlisted!?! Made in 2018, it was tucked away on a shelf, and still stunning! Because it is dated 5+ years ago, we're offering it as a special price! Dimensions listed are approximate. One-of-a-kind, signed and numbered by the artist with species (Cherry); #1065.
