Outstanding and impossible to duplicate this LARGE YARN BOWL won't disappoint! One of two (see #712 in our Etsy shop), these yarn bowls emerged from a surprise specimen of black cherry wood. While black cherry isn't rare, it's not grown in our zone; somehow sneaking in with the (local?) cherry Bob usually turns. The deeper, rosier tones and grains are strikingly different from every cherry yarn bowls he's made to date. A functional collectible.

Measurements are 6-1/2" diameter x  5 " tall; circumference is 20.5" at the midpoint. Designed to stop runaway yarn with tug-less pulling; special features include our unique shooting star groove, outlined with black cherry sparkle inlay. A 1/2" raised base adds ballast right where you need it. The perfect splurge or gift for an avid yarner.
This "workhorse" bowl accommodate a generous 5 oz. ball of #4 worsted (shown) with tons of room to spare. A full 7oz ball fits snugly –not a game changer for most. It's useful with smaller #2-3 fingering/dk balls and mini skeins, average yarn cakes, a big spool of cotton and little projects like coasters, mittens, gloves, etc. Always at your side for yarn on the hook; don't forget to use it for frogging, too.
Bob has hand finish finished this piece over fourteen times to a brilliant, durable shine adding a final coat of museum wax to resist fingerprints. Dimensions listed are approximate. One-of-a-kind, signed and numbered by the artist; #711. Very special and priced to reflect that we don't want to see this one go so fast...
